How to solve problems with Author Profiles and ResearcherID in WoS
The goal is to have only one verified author profile with a ResearcherID that the author has been using for a long time. Try first to find and check your Author Profile in Web of Science (WoS)
1. My author profile is unverified
- There is no green check mark,
- You don't have a profile that is verified (you can check by searching your name).
If you find that you have an unverified WoS profile containing your publications, the following steps can be used to verify your profile and confirm your publications: Make sure you are logged out of ResearcherID or use an anonymous browser window. Open your unverified profile and click Claim my record.
The system will then prompt you to Continue to Claim my record:
You enter the email you want to use for your ResearcherID from now on and create a new ResearcherID using Continue to register. (If you already have a ResearcherID, put Sign In if you have an account, this will direct you to log in to your ResearcherID). You register and confirm the publications that are yours. Be careful not to confirm another author's publications!
2. I have a verified and also an unverified author profile
If you find that you have an unverified WoS profile with your unconfirmed publications, the following steps will confirm your publications and put them under your verified profile:
Log in to your ResearcherID where you want to add publications and in Profile – Publications +ADD padd your publications and confirm them with + submit. Be careful not to confirm another author's publications!
3. I have multiple verified profiles
- The author has confirmed their publications under different ResearcherIDs, thus creating two or more verified author profiles.
- It is desirable that each author has only one verified profile.
How to delete a duplicate profile: Log in to the ResearcherID profile you want to delete and go to Settings – Account Settings.
