Open Access
Open Access (OA) is a publication model that seeks to achieve immediate, free, permanent, and unlimited online access to publicly funded research and development results.
Benefits of Open Access
- free and Easy Access to scientific articles and information resources
- better visibility of authors and easier cooperation with other authors
- citation of the author's articles
- faster dissemination of scientific information
- more transparent science
The main principle is unlimited online access to scientific informationby publishing in Open Access journals (Gold Open Access) when authors pay fee to publishers or access is ensured by the auto-archiving of articles in open repositories (Green Open Access). Make your scientific publications (journal articles, proceedings and conference papers) freely available on the Internet. Your work is then available to everyone without restrictions, and not just to those who have paid a subscription.
Two main approaches to Open Access
Gold way
= publishing in open access journals - open access to publications is enabled by publishers who enable publishing in open access. Use the University Fund to support your Open Access publishing or use discounts from publishers.
Green way
= auto-archiving of the full text of a scientific article (preprint, postprint, publisher's version) in the open repository - open access to publications is provided by the authors themselves. You can archive your Open Access publications in the MENDELU repository.
How to publish openly at MENDELU
You can make your publication available in several ways: by publishing in an open journal (Open Access publishing) or by publishing in the MENDELU repository (Green Open Access and publishing Open Access publications in the repository).
