How can large and complex research datasets be managed and transformed into clear, high-quality, and reusable outputs? 

We invite you to a practical lecture on managing large and complex research datasets and transforming them into clear, high-quality, and reusable research outputs. The session will focus on data from the natural, agricultural, forestry, environmental, and biological sciences.

The lecture is organised by the Open Science Centre will focus on data from the natural, agricultural, forestry, environmental, and biological sciences. The session will be led by Ing. Jakub Kašpar, Ph.D., a researcher at the Research Institute for Landscape.

The lecture will focus on:

• key principles for working with large and complex datasets,
• assessing data structure and quality and identifying problematic or missing data,
• documenting data processing to ensure transparency and reproducibility,
• reusing and interpreting data from existing sources,
• preparing well-documented data for further research and long-term use.

 

Using a practical example, participants will see how these principles can be applied to a complex dataset, from assessing its quality to processing, documentation, and reuse.

The event is intended for academic staff, researchers, and PhD students who work with complex datasets or want to make effective use of existing data in their research.
